8 Lesson Unit Plan
The 8 Lesson Unit Plan is an in depth preview of one of the lessons from the Year Long Plan. This plan, separated into 8 days, shows what TEKS I am targeting as well as the learning objectives I hope each student will achieve. The graph breaks down the timeline of how class time will be spent and how progress is monitored. Click the button below to check it out!

The Odyssey
For my total teach I chose The Odyssey. I knew several of my students had a love for greek mythology and I wanted the last quarter of the school year to be fun for them! I took over right after they had finished the STAAR tests so I knew they were exhausted. I have tried to make all my lessons fun specifically by incorporating the world into the story. Being an arts magnet school I kept hearing the phrase "Art Integration", and after observing my mentor run a flawless art integration lesson in the Othello unit I challenged myself to incorporate the students art conservatories in as many lessons as I could.
Book 10 Music Day
For one part of the unit I had students listening to select songs from Epic:The Musical and answering questions. This was to introduce them to the story in Book 10 before they read it. The form they used which has all the resources they needed is linked below. The form also leads to the Lyrics page and song links.

Othello Film Day
One piece of literature our students studied during my clinical teaching was William Shakespeare's Othello. Shakespeare is hard for anyone to read and understand, so after completing each Acts Unit we would watch a film adaptation of the scene. Click the button below to see what the lesson for one of those film days is like.

Essay Revisions
Click the button below to see a lesson plan for our students to revise their essays. This is Part 2 of Essay revisions as day 1 was simply allowing the students to see the comments I left on their essays and make any minor corrections like formatting. This days lesson is about monitoring the students throughout the revision process.
